All Out for Trans Rights

The Trans Rights Readathon begins today, and we hope Romancelandia University students will join us by reading and reviewing trans stories and by supporting organizations fighting for trans rights where you live. The Trans Rights Readathon is a decentralized campaign, but we encourage you to visit @transrightsreadathon on insta to learn more from this year’s organizers about the intention of the campaign and ways you can participate in their affiliated reading challenge.

This year’s readathon has been extended and will run Friday, March 21 - Monday, March 31 (Trans Day of Visibility!). Organizers are encouraging this year’s readers to UPLIFT, AMPLIFY and SUPPORT trans stories and the fight for trans rights.

We created a few additional extra credit opportunities to encourage your actions this week, so while ALL of your queer histroms are getting you double points on book reports, you can also earn extra credit by sharing with us a donation you made to an organization supporting trans folks, by becoming a member of the Queer Liberation Library, and by calling your elected representatives to advocate for trans rights and protections. Swipe through for more details!

To help inspire your reading, we are sharing TRR x RU TBR and book report templates, and we’ve included some titles you might consider prioritizing. We’ve specifically highlighted books with under 1000 ratings on Goodreads that could use new readers and more love (and even several books still under 100 ratings on Goodreads!) as well as a few YA titles and new releases. AND for every book report you share as part of the TRR, you will earn an entry into a drawing for a copy of TJ Alexander’s newest release, A Gentleman’s Gentleman (huge shout out to Clare @unsuccessfulbookclub for providing a copy for giveaway!).

We look forward to the TRR each year and can’t wait to join you all as we uplift trans love stories throughout history!
